Indoor Air Quality Services in Orange County, CA

Haven Air conditioning provides quality indoor air quality services throughout Orange County and most surrounding cities. We have got you covered! Call us today!

With the recent pandemic we have all become keenly aware and sensitive to the indoor air quality of our living spaces. With a common sense approach we can improve the air we breathe in our homes, schools and workplaces.

Haven Air Conditioning has been implementing IAQ solutions for our clients for over 20 years with excellent results that can be quantified (verified) and immediately noticed. Among these are hospital grade air filtration & a variety of air purification products, duct decontamination/cleaning along with other sensible measures to greatly improve our indoor air quality immediately.

This is a perfect time to have your indoor air quality checked by one of our Haven IAQ consultants.

What we can do for you:

  • Assess the level of existing air filtration and its performance.
  • Document any existing conditions that could negatively impact the air you and your family breathe.
  • Provide you with our Haven Indoor Air Quality Checklist

Provide you with our Haven IAQ Improvement Action Plan that will improve the indoor air quality in your home.

What we will not do

  • Scare you out of your home
  • Push products and solutions that are not proven
  • Offer IAQ products that can potentially be harmful (ozone etc.)

What does a common sense approach to improving the indoor air quality in your home look like:

  • Improving ventilation is often a key component to improving indoor air quality in homes. We can achieve this in a variety of ways through ERV (energy recovery ventilators) & HRV’s (heat recovery ventilators).
  • Improving your central HVAC air filtration efficiency can have multiple benefits to your health as well as HVAC system performance (you will also dust less).
  • For folks with chemical sensitivities we often implement air purification systems that can improve the indoor air quality by removing harmful toxins and offgassing.
  • Sealing leaky air ducts and open cavity air returns will not only improve IAQ, but also greatly increase efficiency and performance of your HVAC system.
  • In some situations duct cleaning may be recommended, but by itself duct cleaning is typically not a solution to poor indoor air quality. (call us for more information on this topic)

For more information call us today, we have the IAQ specialists on our team that can properly assess your specific IAQ situation and provide you with a targeted approach to your concerns.

This will depend on the type of failure in the furnace.
Furnace repair prices of under $900 would be accurate for most failures and associated repairs.

This is usually an issue with older furnaces that have a rusted heat exchanger and the rust along with other dust are burning off for the first few minutes. If the smell persists you should call us to further assess the problem.

Dirty systems (dusty & old ducts) can also have a persistent dusty smell when in heat mode. Duct cleaning may be an option if properly performed.

A clean furnace will perform better, use less energy and last longer. At Haven Air Conditioning we include cleaning with your annual maintenance.

  • Make sure nothing is obstructing the furnace minimum clearances (refer to your installation/owners manual). Nothing can touch the venting system (fire safety), and nothing can restrict combustion air to the furnace intake louvers. Avoid using your furnace equipment closet or garage platform as a storage area. It poses a safety concern and makes it difficult to access the equipment in the case of an emergency.
  • Air filter maintenance – Make sure that the furnace filter is replaced per the manufacturer requirements. That means that your typical 1” filters need to be replaced every 3 months and your thicker IAQ filters between 3 months and a year. You can call our Front Desk for more information on your specific filter.
Note that ALL Haven Installations include a hospital grade MERV16 Air Filtration System that requires an annual filter replacement.
  • Inspect the furnace periodically after it rains and make sure that no water is leaking into the furnace from the venting system (flue).
  • Pay attention to any abnormal sounds during operation. Turn the unit off if it does not sound right to you!
  • If your system is installed in the attic make sure that there is no water in the secondary protection pan.

Call Us for a more comprehensive maintenance service and any additional questions we can answer for you. Note that your furnace manufacturer requires annual furnace maintenance.
